## Eligibility

- A present or former High Court Judge, a person who has been District Judge and Additional District Judge for a combined ten years, an advocate of ten years with substantial service-matter litigation experience, or an Indian Legal Service officer in Grade I or above.

## Pay

Rs. 2,25,000 (fixed) per month, plus the allowances admissible to a Group 'A' Government of India officer carrying the same pay. Any pension drawn is deducted from the pay.

## Selection process

1. Scrutiny: the Committee scrutinises applications for suitability, giving due weightage to qualification and experience.
2. Shortlisting: the Committee shortlists candidates for personal interaction.
3. Personal interaction with the shortlisted candidates.
4. Final selection on the basis of the Committee's overall evaluation of qualification, experience and personal interaction.
5. Under section 24(3)(a) of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2026, the Search-cum-Selection Committee constituted under the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021 before the establishment of the National Tribunals Commission will continue and complete the selection. The appointment, salary, allowances and other service conditions of those selected are governed by the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2026.
6. No TA/DA is admissible to candidates called for the interview / interaction; they must make their own arrangements.
7. The Search-cum-Selection Committee scrutinises applications, shortlists candidates for personal interaction and makes the final selection on qualification, experience and personal interaction.
