## Selection process

1. Shortlisting of Applications: The Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications based on the vacancy-to-call-up ratio for each engineering stream, without assigning any reason. A cut-off is applied in each stream on the cumulative percentage of marks obtained up to the final semester/year. Percentages given by the college/university after applying their own CGPA-to-percentage formula are considered final; a candidate whose converted percentage falls below the cut-off should not report for SSB even if shortlisted as per the marks entered in the application.
2. Allotment of Selection Centre and Dates: After shortlisting, candidates must log in to the website and select their SSB dates and centres, available on a first-come, first-served basis. The SSB centre and date, once selected, cannot be changed later, except that the Directorate General of Recruiting reserves the right to change a selected centre/date due to any exceptional circumstance.
3. Conduct of SSB: Only shortlisted eligible candidates are called to one of the Selection Centres — Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bengaluru (Karnataka), or Jalandhar (Punjab). The Call Up Letter is issued only through the candidate's registered email ID and SMS. Candidates go through a two-stage selection process; those who clear Stage-1 proceed to Stage-2, and those who fail Stage-1 are returned the same day. The SSB interview lasts a maximum of five days. Candidates recommended after Stage-2 undergo a medical examination.
4. Joining Pre-Commission Training Academy (PCTA): Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit are issued a Joining Letter for training, in order of merit, subject to the number of vacancies available and meeting all eligibility criteria.
5. One printout of the application, duly signed and affixed with a self-attested photograph.
6. Matriculation/Secondary School Examination certificate (or equivalent) and marksheet issued by the concerned Board of Education, as proof of date of birth, candidate's name and parents' names (no other document such as admit card/marksheet/transfer certificate is acceptable). If parents' names are not mentioned on this certificate, the candidate must produce a Government of India/State Government document (PAN card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving Licence, etc.) for verification, and the names in the online application must match this document exactly.
7. 12th class marksheet and certificate, or equivalent certificate/Diploma marksheet and certificate (for Diploma holders).
8. Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree issued by the recognised university (the Provisional Degree must not be more than six months old at the time of joining the Academy).
9. Marksheets of all semesters/years.
10. Certificate from the Controller of Examination/Registrar of the concerned university regarding the CGPA/Grades-to-marks conversion formula.
11. For final-year candidates: a certificate from the Controller of Exam/Registrar/Dean/Principal regarding the cumulative percentage of marks up to the relevant semester/year, and a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Institution confirming the candidate is in the final year with the result to be declared by 01 July 2027, plus a declaration to submit proof of passing by 01 July 2027 to the Directorate General of Recruiting.
12. Documents related to civil/police verification.
13. Self-attested copies of the following documents, along with their originals, must be carried to the Selection Centre. DIGILOCKER certificates will not be accepted in place of original certificates.
14. A candidate who does not carry the above documents for the SSB interview will have their candidature cancelled and be returned. All certificates must be carried in original for verification; originals are returned after verification at the Service Selection Board itself. If a school/college issues only e-certificates through DIGILOCKER (no hard copy), a certificate to this effect must be obtained from the school/college, along with a duly authenticated colour printout of the e-certificate.
15. Applications are shortlisted stream-wise on cumulative percentage of marks, followed by a two-stage SSB interview (up to 5 days) at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru or Jalandhar, then a medical examination, and a stream-wise merit list based on SSB marks.
