Driving Test and Interview
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Driving Test and Interview. Full marks are 40, divided into 20 marks for the Driving Test and 20 marks for the Interview. A merit list will be published on the Howrah GRP website (https://howrahgrp.wb.gov.in/).
Medical Examination
- Provisionally selected candidates will have to undergo a medical fitness test as directed by the competent authority.
Verification of Character and Antecedents
- Selected candidates will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate or undergo verification as prescribed by the competent authority at the time of joining.

WB Police Driver Important Instructions
- The engagement will be purely temporary and contractual for a period of 01 (one) year.
- Renewal of the contract will be subject to satisfactory performance and approval of the competent authority.
- Contractual drivers shall not be absorbed in, or claim appointment to, the regular establishment of the Government.
- No TA/DA will be paid to candidates attending the Driving Test and Interview.
- Canvassing in any form and/or bringing any influence will be treated as disqualification.
- Incomplete applications without required documents will be rejected.
- All original documents will be verified at the time of Interview.
- The competent authority reserves the absolute right to cancel the recruitment/engagement process at any stage without prior notice.

How to Apply for WB Police Driver
- Print the application on white A4 size paper.
- Fill up the application form in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Paste one recent passport-size photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) self-attested on the top right of the application.
- Attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Educational Qualification certificates, and Experience certificate.
- Superscribe the envelope as "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DRIVER (CONTRACTUAL), 2026".
