- Applications are invited from Indian Nationals. Eligibility, qualifications and experience are determined as on the last date of receipt of application forms, which is 6 November 2026 for the Fourth Round.

- R&D organizations and academic institutions of the Central or State Government
- Civil services (IAS/IPS/officials of Central or State Government), professional councils and statutory bodies
- Reputed overseas academic, research and industrial organizations, with a demonstrated interest in Indian issues
- Serving and retired scientists, engineers, physicians, professionals, academicians, practitioners (advocates, artists, bankers, etc.), policymakers in teaching/training research, officials and managers with experience of working in:
Mandatory Requirements
- Must be an accomplished professional in the chosen field, comparable to at least the top one third of the regular faculty in professional expertise and reputation.
- The candidate's association must add value to the academic programs, students, Department or Institute.
- A candidate from an industry or research organization should have domain knowledge of significant value.
- Educational qualifications and degree certificates should be from recognized Universities or Institutes.
- The official notification does not specify the minimum educational qualification. For a candidate from an industry or research organization, a Post-graduate or Ph.D. degree may not be an essential qualification.
Desirable Experience
- Normally, at least 10 years of experience in the relevant field is desirable. In emerging and cutting-edge technologies, persons with more than 5 years of experience can also be considered.

- This experience should be in a Government or Public Enterprise or a National Laboratory. Private industry experience is considered if the company is incorporated in the Indian Companies Act of 1956.
