Essential qualifications (mandatory)
- MBBS from any recognised university.
- MD in Radio Diagnosis or equivalent from any recognised medical institute.
- Permanent registration with the West Bengal Medical Council.
- Desirable (preferred, not mandatory): At least one (01) year of experience after passing the MD or equivalent examination.

Service Conditions
- Contract period: The engagement is purely on contract. It starts with six months from the date of joining or lasts until a regular candidate joins, whichever is earlier.
- Extension: The contract may be extended from time to time if the Authority is satisfied with the candidate's service and no permanent candidate has filled the post.
- Termination: Either side may end the contract at any time by giving at least 15 days' notice.
- Working hours: The post is part-time: one session of 03 (three) hours a day, 06 (six) days a week.
- Duties: As assigned by the Authority.
- No claim to a regular post: The contract employee has no claim or right to regular engagement in any post at Visva-Bharati.
- No regular-employee benefits: There is no Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance treatment, seniority or promotion. Other benefits given to regular Government servants also do not apply.
