ABVIMS & RML Hospital Consultant (Legal) Job Description
- Handling and monitoring of court cases (Supreme Court, High Court, CAT, Consumer Commissions and other courts/tribunals) pertaining to the Institute.
- Drafting and vetting of para-wise comments, counter affidavits, written statements, replies, appeals and other legal documents.
- Coordination with the Government Counsel/CGSC/Panel Advocates, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Department of Legal Affairs.
- Rendering legal opinion on administrative, service, contractual, procurement, medico-legal and RTI matters referred by the Hospital administration.
- Maintenance and timely updating of the register/database of court cases, including on LIMBS or any other portal prescribed by the Government.
- Any other work assigned by the Director/Competent Authority from time to time.

- Certificate of enrolment with the Bar Council (if applicable)
- Experience certificate(s) clearly indicating the period and nature of work

- No Objection Certificate from the present employer, in the case of candidates presently employed
What Happens on the Day – Important Instructions
- The engagement is purely on contract basis, initially for a period of [one year] from the date of joining, extendable subject to satisfactory performance, requirement of the Hospital and approval of the competent authority.
- The engagement shall not confer any right or claim for regular appointment, absorption or continuation in the Hospital/Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
- No increment, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or any other allowance shall be admissible during the period of engagement.
- The selected candidates shall not engage in private practice or appear in any matter against the Hospital, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare or the Government of India during the period of engagement, and shall furnish an undertaking to this effect and a declaration of no conflict of interest.
- The selected candidates shall maintain strict confidentiality of all official records, documents and information that come to their knowledge during the engagement.
- The engagement may be terminated by either party by giving one month's notice. The Hospital may, however, terminate the engagement at any time without notice in case of unsatisfactory performance, misconduct or breach of the terms and conditions.
- Leave and other service conditions shall be governed by the instructions of the Government of India applicable to consultants engaged on contract basis, as amended from time to time.
- A panel of candidates may be kept in waiting, in order of merit, which shall be valid for a period of one year or as decided by the Director.
- Canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification of the candidature.
- The competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts, or to cancel or postpone the Walk-in Interview, without assigning any reason. The decision of the Director in all matters relating to the selection shall be final and binding.
