Essential Qualification
- B.E./ B. Tech in Civil / Computer Science/ Environmental Engineering from a recognized University AND 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
- M.Sc. in Environmental Science/ Botany from a recognized University AND 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
- M.E./ M. Tech in Civil/ Environmental Engg/ Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University.
- Any one of the following:

Conditions on Qualification and Experience
- Only candidates whose result for the essential qualification has been declared (at least a provisional certificate) are eligible.
- Result-awaited, final-semester-appeared or Ph.D-submitted candidates are not eligible where the minimum essential qualification is mandatory, and final-semester and result-awaited candidates may not appear for the interview.
- Experience is counted from the date after acquiring the minimum educational qualification. Dissertation or thesis work done during the academic period does not count.
- Time spent acquiring a higher qualification is not counted as experience over the essential qualification.
- Candidates should check the official notification for the exact discipline-wise eligibility of the post.
Service Conditions
- Place of posting: CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur.
- The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, and it gives no right to regularization against any CSIR/CSIR-NEERI post.
- Total tenure as project staff in CSIR-NEERI or other CSIR laboratories cannot exceed six or seven years, as per clause 1.6/1.7 of CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024. In the application form, candidates must declare that they have not completed the maximum tenure of 6 years.
- The offer letter will first be issued for the period for which funds are available. A review committee will assess performance and may recommend extension, subject to funds.
- The engagement may be extended or curtailed depending on the project duration, the level of performance or the conduct of the incumbent.
- Either side may end the engagement with one month's notice. A candidate who leaves may instead pay one month's remuneration.
- Selected candidates must sign a confidentiality undertaking covering project findings and intellectual property.
- Joining follows pre-appointment formalities such as medical examination and character verification. No upgradation is allowed in the same or a new project.
- CSIR-NEERI may cancel the offer if any discrepancy is found in a candidate's details at any stage.
