About MZU
- Mizoram University is based in Aizawl, Mizoram. DRDO has signed an MoU with Mizoram University to set up the DRDO - Industry Academia Centre of Excellence, Mizoram University (DIA-CoE, MZU) for directed research. The centre works with academic researchers and faculty, start-ups, industries and other institutes in the country to support and advance technology research. It carries out multidisciplinary directed applied research in four areas: Agro Bio Resources for Soldier Survival, Harnessing Environment for Soldier Survival, Defence Waste Management and Human Cognition Studies.

Who Can Apply – Essential Qualification
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Technology or Science from a recognized University
- 25 years of experience in technology domains/ defence (technical domain), but not limited to the above-mentioned technology areas
Desirable
- PhD degree in Engineering, Technology or Science from a recognized University
- Wide-ranging experience and exposure to collaborative projects, setting up of large research facilities, strategic research planning and technology transfer
- Exposure to multi-mode projects across Labs/ Organizations/ Academia/ Industry interactions, with awareness of global developments in relevant areas for overall exposure
- Experience in the defence domain in research/ coordination and technology development/ deployment towards useful outcomes. Alternatively, a strong record of publications and patents, laboratory/ course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities leading to defence or related technology development in the country.
- Exposure to Academic and Industry oriented research/ coordination towards realization of technology/ systems

- Accommodation: Mizoram University may provide accommodation if MZU Quarters are available on the Mizoram University Campus.
- Medical: The Health Centre at Mizoram University will provide medical facilities.
- Nature of appointment: This is a full-time contract position. The initial appointment is for 3 years.
- Extension: The competent authority can extend the period by 2 more years, subject to a performance review.
- Early exit: Either side may end the position before 3 years by giving 3 months' notice, without giving a reason.
- Joining: The selected candidate must submit a declaration to join the post within 30 days of the appointment letter being issued.

- provide strategic guidance and overall management of the centre
- develop long-term research and technology roadmaps and implementation strategies aligned with the future technology requirements of DRDO
- ensure efficient project execution
- secure industrial collaborations for technology translation
- facilitate agreements and technical contracts with stakeholders such as DRDO, industries and academia
- drive knowledge dissemination through workshops, seminars and brainstorming sessions
- The Director, DIA-CoE, MZU is the administrative and executive head of the centre. The Director will:
