About SPMCIL
- SPMCIL is a Schedule 'A' Mini-ratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise wholly owned by the Government of India. It started functioning as a corporatized entity with effect from 13 January 2006. It designs and manufactures security papers and prints currency and bank notes, passports, non-judicial stamp papers and postage stamps, and it also mints coins. Its registered and corporate office is at 3rd Floor, Tower- G, World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi- 110029. Its operational units are four Mints at Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Noida, four Currency / Security Presses at Nashik, Dewas and Hyderabad, and a Paper Manufacturing Mill at Narmadapuram.
Who Can Apply
- The post is open to Officers/ Executives working in the Govt./PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies/ Statutory Bodies, for appointment as CGM in SPMCIL on deputation basis.
Educational Qualification
- First class B.Tech /B.E. in Electrical/ Mechanical / Metallurgical /Electronic Engineering/ Printing Technology/ Chemical Engineering/ Pulp and Paper Technology from a recognized University.
Experience (any one of the following)
- Govt. Officers holding analogous post on regular basis in Pay level 14 in pay matrix revised as per 7th Pay Commission, and PSU Executives in IDA pay scale of Rs.1,20,000-2,80,000/- (revised as per 3rd PRC); OR
- Officers with 3 years of regular service in the Govt. in pay level 13 in pay matrix as per 7th CPC; OR
- PSU executives having 20 years of post-qualification experience, out of which 2 years regular service at E-7 level in the IDA pay scale of Rs.1,00,000-2,60,000/-.
Pay and Terms
- Level and pay: E-8. Pay level 14 of the Matrix as per the 7th CPC, OR Rs.1,20,000-2,80,000/- (IDA) for PSU Executives or equivalent.
- Pay fixation and benefits: The pay fixation and other benefits of the selected candidates will be regulated as per the prevalent rules of DoPT/ DPE. The notice does not list any separate allowances.
- Nature and term: Deputation basis, initially for a period of 3 years, with further extension as per Govt. of India Rules.
- Posting and transfer: Chief General Managers are liable for transfer all over SPMCIL units and HQ, depending on the operational priority and functional requirement. The selected candidate is liable to be posted in any of the Units or the Corporate Office of SPMCIL as per requirement.
- Panel: The panel is formed to keep a bench strength of Unit/ Technical Heads available in SPMCIL.
SPMCIL Chief General Manager Job Description
- Chief General Managers head the Units and report to the Directors and CMD.
- The Units are accountable for work-place efficiency, for making the best use of available resources, and for meeting the production and sales targets set in the MOU commitment with the Government.

- The Annexure-I form asks for details including: graduation onwards education, experience starting from the latest employment (with pay matrix/IDA scale and duties), the nature and basis of present employment, total emoluments now drawn, any relative working with SPMCIL, computer knowledge, training in the last 5 years, and any pending criminal case or conviction.
