GOVERNMENT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR DEPARTMENT OFPAEDIATRIC SURGERY SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN TEST POST OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR PAEDIATRIC SURGERY SKIMS, SOURA, SRINAGAR The following syllabus is prescribed for the written examination for the post of Assistant Professor in Paediatric Surgery. I. BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES APPLIED TO PAEDIATRIC SURGERY Developmental anatomy and embryology Applied and regional anatomy Physiology related to children and neonates Neonatal physiology, metabolism and acid-base balance Respiratory physiology and ventilatory support General pathology with emphasis on paediatric surgical conditions Pharmacology and pharmacokinetics in neonates and children Biochemical and metabolic considerations in paediatric surgery Fetal anatomy, physiology and pathology Genetics relevant to paediatric surgery II.
