Age Limit
- The minimum age for both internal and other candidates is 45 years. For internal candidates, the maximum age requires 2 years residual service as on the date of vacancy w.r.t. the date of superannuation, while for others it requires 3 years residual service.

- Applicants must meet the following eligibility conditions regarding age, employment status, qualification, and experience:
Educational Qualification
- Engineering Graduate or Chartered Accountant or Cost Accountant or Post Graduate or Graduate with MBA/ PGDIM from a recognized institute.
Desirable Qualification
- Applicants having Post Graduate degree in Naval/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Marine Engineering will have added advantage.
- Experience in Ship Design/ Ship Building/ Ship Repairs will be preferred.
Employment Status
- The applicant must be employed in a regular capacity in a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE), Central Government Group 'A' Officers including Armed Forces and All India Services, Public Sector Banks/ Financial Institutions/ Autonomous Bodies, State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) with an annual turnover of *Rs. 5,000 crore or more, or Private Sector Company/ Joint Venture (50:50 JVs of Central/State Governments or JVs of CPSEs with other CPSEs/organisations) / National and State level Cooperative Federations whose annual turnover is *Rs. 5000 crore or more (*average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised).
Pay and Terms
- The post carries a scale of pay of Rs. 200000 - 370000 (IDA). The appointment shall be for a period of five years from the date of joining or up to the date of superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Central Government officers, including those of the Armed Forces and All India Services and officers from Public Sector Banks/ Financial Institutions/ Autonomous Bodies etc., will be eligible for consideration only on immediate absorption basis.
The Role
- The Chairman and Managing Director, GRSE, is the Chief Executive of the Company and accountable to its Board of Directors and Government/ Shareholders. He/She is responsible for the efficient functioning of the Company, and for achieving its corporate objectives and performances parameters.
