- The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is at V.N. Purav Marg, Deonar, Mumbai - 400 088. - Preference will be given to candidates who have a certificate in Hospitality/Housekeeping/Hostel Maintenance.
- Duration: 6 months to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Relevant environments: prior experience working in hostels, hotels, guest houses, hospitals or student dormitories.
- Key tasks: proven experience in handling industrial cleaning equipment, chemical safety, bed-making and deep-cleaning bathrooms.
- Candidates with good oral communication skills in Hindi, Marathi and preferably English will be given preference.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend and lift heavy items (like mattresses or laundry bags) for long hours.
- Interpersonal Skills: A polite, friendly manner, because hostels involve frequent, direct interaction with international and young travellers.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize and clean several rooms or floors efficiently within check-out and check-in windows.
- Attention to Detail: Spotting maintenance issues (like broken lights or leaking pipes) and reporting them to management immediately.
