How to Prepare for WBPSC ICDS Exam 2026
- Pick your post's syllabus first. The Supervisor, Worker and Helper lists differ. For example, compound interest and mensuration appear in the Supervisor lists but not in the Worker or Helper lists, so avoid spending time on topics outside your list.
- Give Bengali enough hours for Worker and Helper. Bengali carries 30 marks for Worker and 40 marks for Helper, the largest single share for Helper. Practise grammar, comprehension and letter or essay writing regularly.
- Treat Child Development & Nutrition as a scoring section for Worker. It carries 20 marks. Cover ICDS, POSHAN Abhiyaan, Anganwadi Centres, immunization and health topics, and link them with current government schemes.
- Train for speed in the Supervisor Prelims. With 100 questions in 60 minutes, you have roughly 36 seconds per question. Practise timed sectional sets for General Knowledge, Arithmetic and Reasoning and get used to marking answers on an OMR sheet.
- Practise writing for the Supervisor Mains. Each of the four papers is 100 marks in 90 minutes. For English and Bengali, time yourself on essays, precis, letters and reports, and revise formulas and shortcuts for the Arithmetic paper.
- Use mock tests and previous papers to find weak areas. After each test, list the topics where you lost marks and revise them first in the following week.
