Age Limit
- The minimum age is 21 years. The maximum is 37 years for unreserved men, 40 years for unreserved women, BC and EBC candidates, and 42 years for SC and ST candidates, all as on 1 August 2026. Divyang candidates and ex-servicemen get extra relaxation.
Eligibility Criteria
- It is an eligibility test (Vidyalaya Pustakalayadhyaksh Patrata Pariksha) conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board for candidates with a Library Science degree. Qualifying candidates receive an eligibility certificate.
- The last date to apply and pay the fee online is 21 October 2026. Registration begins on 1 October 2026.
- A Bachelor's degree in Library Science from a recognised university with at least 45% marks, along with Indian citizenship and Bihar residency.
Important Instructions
- Only online applications are accepted. Applications by any other mode will not be considered.
- Incomplete applications, applications with wrong details, and applications without the exam fee will be rejected.
- After final submission, no claim for correcting errors will be entertained, so verify everything in Preview.
- Wrong or false entries or documents found at any stage can lead to cancellation of candidature.
- Keep your mobile number and email ID active, as login details and communication are sent there.
- If any point in the notice is disputed or unclear, the decision of the Education Department, Government of Bihar, prevails.
How to Apply Online for the BSEB School Librarian Eligibility Test 2026
- Go to the official portal, biharboardonline.org.
- Open the Registration page, enter the required details and generate an OTP. A User ID and password will be sent to your registered mobile number or email.
- Log in and fill in the application form with your personal and educational details.
- Upload your recent colour photograph and signature in the prescribed size and format.
- Upload the required certificates.
- Click Preview and check every entry carefully.
- Pay the fee online and submit the application.
- Keep a printout of the confirmed application form and the payment receipt.
- Online registration is scheduled to start on 1 October 2026. Apply well before 21 October 2026 to avoid last-day portal congestion.
