- Maximum age: 40 years. Desirable: knowledge in hydrometallurgical unit operations, electrochemical leaching, precipitation, roasting and calcination.
Pay and Tenure
- Engagement is on behalf of the sponsoring agency, temporary and co-terminus with the project tenure or 06 years (total under one project and/or combination of projects), whichever is earlier.
- The initial offer is for one year or up to the project duration, whichever is earlier; it may be extended or curtailed depending on the project duration and (or) satisfactory performance.
- Total engagement across CSIR projects cannot exceed 6 years. Continuation beyond 06 years is allowed only in contract/consultancy/sponsored projects funded by PSUs, industries, start-ups and individual entrepreneurs that are 12 months or less in duration, with a total of not more than 07 years.
- Engagement may be terminated at any time on one month's notice from either side or one month's emoluments in lieu.
- Project personnel may take 12 days of leave (one day per month); leave beyond this is without emoluments, calculated pro-rata.
- Women project personnel are eligible for maternity leave of 180 days and male project personnel for paternity leave of 15 days, only in case of two surviving children as per CSIR norms. The stipend for this leave is paid only after re-joining and submission of relevant medical reports/documents.
- Every pay figure is printed as monthly emoluments plus HRA @20%. For post 8710, Rs. 35,000 + HRA @20% applies to candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR/NET including lectureship/assistant professorship, or GATE, or national level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their agencies/institutions. Rs. 28,000 + HRA @20% applies to candidates who do not fall under that category.
