- The National Water Development Agency (NWDA) is an Autonomous Body registered under the Society Registration Act, 1860, under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India. Who Can Apply
- The NWDA Director General post can be filled in two ways, and each route has its own eligibility. Both routes require the same educational qualification and experience.
A. By Deputation
- Holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department; or
- Having 3 years' regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in Level-14 of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 1,44,200-2,18,200) or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; or
- Officers with 25 years' regular service in Group 'A' posts, out of which at least one year regular service should be in Level-14 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent posts in the parent cadre/department;
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized university/Institution.
- Having worked extensively in the field of Water Resources with at least 20 years of professional experience in surveys, investigations, planning and preparation of project reports, design and construction of major irrigation, hydro-electric, flood control and multipurpose projects, of which at least 10 years' experience should be in the senior management level.
- Officers under the departments of Central Government/State Governments who meet any one of these service conditions:

B. By Short-Term Contract
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized University/Institution.
- Having worked extensively in the field of Water Resources with at least 20 years of professional experience in surveys, investigations, planning and preparation of project reports, design and construction of major irrigation, hydro-electric, flood control and multipurpose projects, of which at least 10 years' experience should be in the senior management level.
- Candidates belonging to organisations other than those specified for deputation, possessing the following qualification and experience:

- The officer should not have been on Deputation/Foreign Service during the last one year, counted till the last date for receipt of applications. Candidates should check the official notification for the full eligibility conditions of the post.
Pay and Terms
- Pay: Pay Matrix Level-15 (Rs. 182200-224100/-). The notice does not mention HRA or other allowances.
