RRB Apply Online: how to register, log in and apply

Railway recruitment (NTPC, Group D, ALP, JE and others) is done by the Railway Recruitment Boards. The application links open in the notice of each exam, so start from the official notice, not from a forwarded link.

Official site: indianrailways.gov.in

Before you start

  • Read the Central Employment Notice (CEN) of the exam for the posts, age and qualification.
  • Choose the RRB region carefully. You can often choose only one, and it decides your exam region.
  • Keep your documents ready: Aadhaar number (mobile number linked to Aadhaar helps OTP steps); Active mobile number and email ID; Passport-size photograph and signature as scanned images; Bank passbook first page (account in your own name, linked to Aadhaar where the portal asks).

Step by step

  • Open the apply link from the official RRB notice or from the Indian Railways website.
  • Create your account with your name, date of birth, mobile number and email as in your 10th certificate, and verify by OTP.
  • Log in and fill the application: personal details, education, category and the posts you want.
  • Upload your photo and signature in the size shown on the form.
  • Pay the fee online. Keep the payment confirmation.
  • Submit, then download the final form and keep a copy.

Fee and refunds

The fee is different for general, OBC, SC/ST and other groups, and some candidates are exempt. Many railway exams refund part of the fee after you appear in the first stage. Read the fee section of the notice for the exact amounts.

After you apply

  • Watch for the city and date slip, then the admit card, on the official RRB site of your region.
  • Check the corrections window if the notice has one.
  • Use the exam pages on this site to see all the notices of your exam in one place.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I fill the railway form?

From the apply link given in the official notice of the exam on the RRB website of your region or the Indian Railways site.

Can I apply to more than one RRB region?

Usually not. Most notices let you choose one region, so read the rule in the notice before choosing.

How do I know my application is complete?

After payment and final submit you can download a form with your application number. If you cannot, the application is not complete.
