UP Scholarship: how to register, log in and apply

The Uttar Pradesh scholarship portal is where students of class 9 to 12 and college courses apply for pre-matric and post-matric scholarships and fee reimbursement. This guide shows the order of steps so the form is not rejected at your school or college.

Official site: scholarship.up.gov.in

Who can apply

Students who live in Uttar Pradesh and study in a recognised school, college or institute can apply. The scheme depends on your class, category and family income. The portal lists each scheme with its own rules every year, so read the scheme page first.

Documents to keep ready

  • Aadhaar number (mobile number linked to Aadhaar helps OTP steps)
  • Active mobile number and email ID
  • Passport-size photograph and signature as scanned images
  • Bank passbook first page (account in your own name, linked to Aadhaar where the portal asks)
  • Income certificate and caste certificate where the scheme asks for them (the certificate number is entered on the form)
  • Previous class marksheet and the fee receipt of the current year
  • Admission details: institute name, course and year

Step by step: apply online

  • Open the official site and choose the new registration option for students.
  • Fill your class or course details, then your personal details exactly as in your marksheet.
  • Note down the registration number the site gives you. You need it for login and status.
  • Log in, complete the application, upload the documents in the size the portal asks, then submit.
  • Take a printout of the final form and give it to your school or college. The institute must verify it, or it will not move forward.

Login and common problems

  • Forgot password: use the forgot password option with your registration number and registered mobile number.
  • Photo or document not uploading: check the size and format shown beside the upload box. Our free photo and signature resizer on this site helps.
  • Name or date of birth mismatch: correct it in the application before final submit, as most portals do not allow changes after.
  • Form stuck with the institute: ask the school or college office to verify it. The student cannot do this step.

How to check your status

Use the status option on the official site with your registration number. It usually shows the form as submitted, verified by the institute, verified by the district office, or paid. Money goes only to the bank account in your form, so keep it correct and linked.

Frequently asked questions

What is the official website for UP scholarship?

scholarship.up.gov.in is the official portal. Apply only there and never pay anyone to fill the form.

Do I need to submit a printout to the college?

Yes. After online submit, the final form is verified by your institute, and only then is it checked by the district welfare office.

Why is my UP scholarship status pending?

Pending usually means the institute or district office has not verified the form yet. Ask your school or college to verify it, and check that your bank account details are correct.

Can I change my bank account after submitting?

Most often not. Correct details before final submit, or ask your institute whether the form can be sent back for changes.
